Sagicor Foundation on Thursday officially handed over much needed medical equipment to the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) to help with improving the care they provide for the patients in the Paediatric Ward.
The items valued at over $16 million include - 13 BeneFusion Pump & Handle, 11 iMEC 8,8.4” Non-Touch Screen ECG, NIBP, 6 Adult NIBP Cuff Accessories Kit, 6 Adult SPO2 Accessories Kit (9006 Spo2), 6 Electrode+wires Adult 5-lead, 6 Adult reusable temperature probe (skin surface), Fast Alert Advanced Patient Alarm and 8 Handheld Oximeter System.
Speaking at the handover, Kevin Allen, Chief Executive Officer at the UWHI, expressed his gratitude to the Sagicor Foundation for the equipment and noted how thankful the hospital staff is for the items received.
Chairman of Sagicor Foundation, R. Danny Williams, in his address noted, “We fully understand the many challenges our health care system face and we are more than happy to play our part as corporate citizens to help to ease some of the burdens you face, especially with not having the relevant live saving equipment.”
