The University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) executed numerous Labour Day Projects throughout the hospital. These areas include; the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Emergency Medicine Division (Casualty section), Paediatric Department , Physiotherapy Department and Psychiatry Department.

 

The project in Casualty under the theme ‘For Health Sake Keep It Clean’ was done in partnership with members of the institution and kind contributions and support from the following sponsors:

  4. Milestone Environmental Limited

 

The Physiotherapy Department had artwork done by Dr. Rejeev Venugopal and Dr. Andrew Mathura. Other assistants were Dr. Cherie Tulluch, Dr. Pete Ho, Dr. Hima Vijayan and medical student Simone Stewart. The artwork illustrates the types of physiotherapy treatments including heat therapy, cold and ice therapy, exercise, manual therapy, electrical stimulation, hydrotherapy (water therapy) etc.

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU)- Guardian Group one of the Hospital’s corporate sponsors gave great support by painting sections of the ICU and Paediatric Departments and planted plants in designated areas.
