Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Warden (LMO/TS 4) at the University Hospital of the West Indies.



Under the general direction of the Accommodation Officer, the Warden is responsible for:


  • Supervising the domestic staff in the cleaning of vacant rooms, corridors, bathrooms, pantry common room and other areas.
  • Supervising the preparation of rooms for incoming residents. This entails cleaning the windows, removing soiled marks from walls, Cob webbing, polishing furniture and having necessary repairs done.
  • Ensuring that grounds are kept clean and cut.
  • Inspecting all rooms are after they are prepared and inventory done.
  • Carrying out regular inspection of fixtures, furniture, equipment, appliances and all plumbing and electrical fittings and submits all requests for servicing to the Accommodation Officer.
  • Requesting for the purchase of new furniture and appliances to replace that which cannot be repaired.
  • Reporting damage of hospital property to Accommodations Officer.
  • Keeping safe custody of master key and all other keys.
  • Ordering from time to time pest control treatment for the residence
  • Identifying items to be condemned and liaises with officer responsible for the condemnation.
  • Collecting keys from the resident’s inventory noting and recording condition of rooms as they become vacant.
  • Suppling shower curtains when necessary



  • Three (3) subjects in CXC or GCE

  • 4-5 years working in a similar capacity

  • Strong inter personal skills

  • Able to deal with all levels of society

  • Have excellent supervisory skills

  • Good decision making and problem-solving skills
